The solubility of Ag₂CO₃ in a 0.1 M AgNO₃ solution is 2.0 × 10⁻⁶ M . What is its Ksp ?
For Ag₂CO₃ 2Ag+ + CO₃²⁻ , [Ag+] = 0.1 + 2S ≈ 0.1 M , [CO₃²⁻] = S = 2.0 × 10⁻⁶ . Ksp = [Ag+]²[CO₃²⁻] = (0.1)² (2.0 × 10⁻⁶) = 2.0 × 10⁻⁸ .
