Skull of amphibians described as dicondylic bearing two occipital condyles formed by paired exoccipital ossifications bordering foramen magnum articulating with atlas first cervical vertebra permitting nodding and lateral head movements assisting prey capture on land. Paired condyles provide stable yet flexible craniovertebral joint essential after emergence from water. Reptiles and birds exhibit single monocondylic median condyle formed largely by basioccipital allowing rotation, mammals also dicondylic differing in exoccipital contribution. Acondylic condition lacking condyles not seen. This concept holds high importance for NEET, CBSE board, CUET and competitive examinations focusing on comparative morphology and evolutionary taxonomy within animal and fungal diversity.
